How It Works

The Atlanta BeltLine Housing Initiative Program offers special financing on home purchases and renovations in two ways: Buy a Home Supports homebuyers with downpayment assistance for up to 20% of the purchase price of a home. Rehab Your Home (Application Period Closed) This program offered assistance for homeowners to make needed repairs to their dwelling. This program is not currently accepting new applicants in 2016.

2015 Rehab Funding Applications are Being Carried Over to 2016

Due to the exceptional volume of applications received in the 2015 cycle, Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. is not currently accepting new applications for the owner occupied rehabilitation program in 2016. We will, therefore, be working through as many applicants from the 2015 list as feasible. Please stay tuned for future opportunities for funding.

Atlanta BeltLine Housing Initiative Program

In 2015, Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. teamed up with local lenders through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta to improve affordable homeownership opportunities in Atlanta BeltLine neighborhoods. Homebuyers can qualify for assistance of up to $45,000 and homeowners can qualify for rehab assistance of up to $25,000.

The Atlanta BeltLine Housing Initiative Program (HIP) is designed to give qualified families the opportunity to buy or renovate homes along the trails, parks, and future transit of the Atlanta BeltLine.

Households must earn under 80% of the Area Median Income*, which equates to:

  • 2 Person Household   //   $43,200
  • 3 Person Household   //   $48,640
  • 4 Person Household   //   $54,000
  • 5 Person Household   //   $58,350
  • 6 Person Household   //   $62,650
  • 7 Person Household   //   $67,000
  • 8 Person Household   //   $71,300

* Whichever is higher: the county HUD Area Median Income (AMI) adjusted for family size, or the state Family Median Income (FMI) adjusted for family size. Updated numbers as of June 17, 2016.
